Here are some pictures of some of the Trophy winning games from PAW 2014, which took place over the weekend of February 1st/2nd

Once again, a large number of people worked hard to bring display games of various sorts to the show. We'd like to thank them all for their efforts, and we look forward to seeing next year's games

These are the games that caught the attention of our judges, and the winners of the tournaments.

Firstly, the winners from the display games.  Mick Allen from Exmouth Imperials won the Best Participation Game trophy with his In Her Majesty's Name game, and Brixham Berserkers were awarded Best Demonstration Game for their Viking Raid game using the Valhalla rules

Next the winners from our tournaments.

First in the Flames of War competition was Kieth McGlynn, using a Russian Tank Company, second was James Pindar with a 1st British Tank Company.  The Best Army trophy went to David Boardman, for his Scottish Infantry Company


Warhammer Fantasy was won by Timotej Velkavrh with his Empire army, and Mark Gutteridge was second, also with an Empire army.  Kevin Shillito was awarded the Best Painted trophy for his Beastmen

Victor in the Warhammer 40K competition was James Mclean with Tau, and Jack West was second with Space Marines. Mark Packer-Hughes was awarded Best Painted for his Tyranids


Ancients has been part of the PAW shows since we started running competitions in 2000.  This year we once again had both a 15mm and a 25mm competition, using the Field of Glory rules.

Gordon Jamieson was the winner of the 15mm competition, with Later Swedish, and Les Shuttlewood was second with Aztecs.   

Paul Bartlett won the 25mm tournament, using Late Republican Roman, and Richard Jeffrey Cook was second, with Arab Conquest

 

Mark Fry won Best Painted Army for his War of the Roses Tudor.

New for 2014 was the Dark Ages skirmish game, SAGA

John Roberts won the overall Challenge with his Normans, Kurt Baker was runnercr_JRphoto up with his Anglo Danes and Nick Davies won Best Army with his Vikings
